Transport and Material Handling Specialist

Position Overview

The Transport and Material Handling Specialist plays a critical role in the success of our operations. This individual is responsible for coordinating and completing pickups and deliveries of all equipment and materials for the production teams. Ensures safe and efficient operation of RLG vehicle(s)/equipment, maintains a clean, well-organized facility, and ensures inventory is accurately stocked and accounted for. You will work closely with RLG team leaders, managers, and vendor partners, to ensure resources are coordinated on time to maximize RLG productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles to transport equipment and materials between various job sites and vendors.

  • Collaborate closely with team leaders to plan, schedule, and optimize delivery routes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials and equipment to support project needs.

  • Proactively prioritize and resolve any issues related to equipment or material shortages, working in tandem with team leaders to minimize disruption.

  • Coordinate the pickup and return of equipment and materials from vendor partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Verify the accuracy of all orders during pickup and delivery, ensuring high standards of quality control for materials and equipment.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all deliveries, pickups, and material purchases to support inventory management and reporting.

  • Contribute to the upkeep and organization of company facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

  • Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and traffic regulations to ensure safe operation at all times.

  • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and equipment ensuring proper handling, placement and load securement.

  • Comply with all company procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure smooth operations.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) with a clean driving record.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to organize and communicate with multiple contacts and manage dynamic situations, with strong prioritization skills.

  • Ability to collaborate well with team members and communicate clearly and efficiently.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Physical capability to load and unload various materials (e.g., stone, plant material) by hand and with equipment such as a Moffett forklift.

  • Minimum of a high School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in logistics or transportation

  • Landscape and/or Green industry experience

  • Close attention to detail

Compensation:
